Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 7, 2026

This policy applies to the Voice2Sub website and desktop app. Voice2Sub is a desktop product for local speech-to-subtitle workflows. We limit data collection to what is needed for downloads, licensing, payment transactions, support, security, product diagnostics and website operation.

1. Local and offline media processing

Voice2Sub is designed to process imported audio and video files on your own computer. Media processing, transcription and subtitle generation primarily run locally in the desktop app.

During normal subtitle generation, Voice2Sub does not upload your audio files, video files, generated subtitles, transcripts, prompt text, local file names or local file paths to our servers. If you manually include this information in a support message or feedback report, we receive only what you choose to send.

2. Website download analytics

When you use the website to select or download an app package, we may record a limited download analytics event. This helps us measure downloads, detect broken download flows and improve release distribution.

  • Data that may be included: selected download button or file, selected platform, page, locale, referrer or source, approximate country or region if available, timestamp, version, build and channel.
  • Purpose: download counting, release health, distribution diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Limits: download analytics is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking, and it does not collect media files, transcripts, subtitles, prompt content, local file names or local file paths.

Download analytics may be processed by service providers used for analytics or diagnostics, such as Google Forms/Sheets when that workflow is enabled.

3. Anonymous desktop launch diagnostics

The desktop app may send a one-time anonymous “first successful launch” or install diagnostics event after the app opens successfully. This event helps us confirm that a release can start after installation and understand reliability by platform and version.

  • Data that may be included: app version or package version, build channel or source, platform, operating system, architecture, app language or locale, an anonymous hashed install identifier or install sequence identifier, first run timestamp, previous version if available, broad license state such as Free/Pro/Unknown and telemetry policy version.
  • Purpose: product diagnostics, install analytics, release health and reliability improvement.
  • Limits: this event is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking. It does not include audio/video/media files, generated subtitles, transcripts, prompt content, local file names, local file paths, raw license keys, email addresses or payment information.

4. Licensing, activation, quotas and trusted time

Some app features require the desktop app to contact Voice2Sub servers or licensing infrastructure. This may happen when you activate, validate or deactivate a license, check entitlement, enforce a free quota, verify trusted time, check for updates or download optional app resources.

The data sent for these operations may include a license key or token that you enter, a device or install identifier generated by the app, activation instance information, app version, platform, activation or deactivation time, entitlement state, broad license state, usage quota status and basic request metadata. This data is used to verify access, prevent abuse, enforce activation limits and keep licensing behavior reliable.

5. Payments, emails and messages you send

  • Email address: used to reply to messages, deliver app-related communication, send activation codes or identify a payment transaction.
  • Payment and transaction data: processed by payment providers and banking services. Voice2Sub does not store card numbers.
  • Support and feedback messages: if you contact us or submit feedback, we receive the content you send. If diagnostic information is attached or included by the feedback/support flow, it may be sent so we can investigate the issue.

6. Local app data, logs and diagnostics

The desktop app may store settings, downloaded AI models, license state, local usage or quota state, update information and local diagnostic logs on your device. These files help the app run, remember preferences, troubleshoot problems and support local/offline workflows.

Voice2Sub does not automatically upload your full local logs or diagnostic files unless you choose to send them for support/feedback or a diagnostic upload mechanism is clearly described in the product. Local logs are not used to collect your media content, generated subtitles, transcripts or prompts for analytics.

7. How we use data

We use data to provide downloads, process transactions, send activation codes, validate Pro access, prevent abuse, maintain free quotas, improve release reliability, respond to support requests, secure the service and operate the website and app.

We do not sell personal data. We do not use download analytics or first-launch diagnostics for advertising or cross-app tracking. We do not collect your media, subtitle or transcript content for analytics.

8. Third-party service providers

Some data may be processed by service providers that help us operate Voice2Sub. These may include hosting, CDN and infrastructure providers; analytics or diagnostics tools; licensing and payment providers; banking services; support or email providers; app distribution platforms; security providers; optional model/download hosting; and trusted time or update infrastructure.

Based on the current product and website flows, relevant providers may include Google Forms/Sheets, Firebase, Cloudflare/Turnstile, Lemon Squeezy where applicable, Hugging Face for optional model downloads, Microsoft Store where applicable, payment or banking providers, email providers and CDN/infrastructure providers. We use these providers only for the service functions they support.

9. Retention

License, transaction, analytics, diagnostics and support records may be retained for as long as needed to provide access, troubleshoot issues, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, meet accounting or legal requirements and support users. Local app data remains on your device unless you delete it or uninstall the app according to your operating system behavior.

10. Your choices

You can choose not to purchase, not to contact us, not to submit app feedback and not to use optional downloads. Some licensing, update, trusted-time or entitlement checks may be required for features that depend on them. Where applicable, you can contact us to ask about access, correction or deletion of your data.

11. Changes

We may update this policy when the website, desktop app, licensing, analytics, diagnostics, payment or support flows change. The latest version will be posted on this page.
